14th Breakfast Rounds 2023

After three years of online events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 14th Breakfast Rounds were held in person again at the University of Hamburg on 28th of March 2023. Once again, this year’s pre-moot proved to be a huge success. The Vis Moot Court Alumni Universität Hamburg e.V. received over 40 registrations and invited nine teams from Brazil, the USA, India, Great Britain and Austria. The teams had the opportunity to test and develop their arguments a few days before the General Rounds in Vienna and to get to know the other teams and arbitrators. We congratulate all participants on their impressive performances and would like to highlight the following placements:

Peter Mankowski Award for the Prevailing Team: National Law School of India

Peter Mankowski Award for the 1st Runner Up: University of Vienna

We would like to thank all participating teams, arbitrators and the many supporters who made this event so special. We are looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible again next year at the University of Hamburg!

13th (2ND Virtual) Breakfast Rounds 2022

The 13th Breakfast Rounds are out, as is the 29th Willem C. Vis Moot.

Over two days, 22 teams met in 36 hearings, to prepare for the oral hearings of the real deal.

In an engaging final with the University of Hamburg, the Aarhus University prevailed. The Aarhus University receives the first Peter Mankowski Award for the prevailing team of the Breakfast Rounds, dedicated to the late Peter Mankowski, professor at the University of Hamburg. Congratulations on a commanding performance! Congratulations also to the deserving recipients of further awards, for best oralists of the general rounds and of the final hearing. You can find an overview on LinkedIn.

To all teams, coaches, arbitrators and Vis alumni at the University of Hamburg, thank you for being a part of the 13th Breakfast Rounds. We appreciate your support and commitment.

Finally, congratulations to all teams for fabulous efforts at the 29th Vis Moot. Three teams of the 13th Breakfast Rounds among the final four of the Vis Moot are a testament to the quality of hearings we were fortunate to observe at our practice moot. We hope to see many of you next time around.

Here, we close the 13th Breakfast Rounds, a student project, for mooties by mooties.
